What Are the Spring 2023 Jewelry Trends? See What Made the Cut

It’s been four long months since we saw the collections walk the runways and started to identify the darling-bud beginnings of this season’s spring 2023 jewelry trends. And as the weather warms up, what we saw is finally hitting the stores.

Jewelry trends are anomalies in that they’re dictated partially by the runways and partially by many organic and consumer factors (more on the latter for another day). We pay attention to them all and, for the sake of this story, are synthesizing jewelry trends that come naturally from the runways but are informed and purchasable in fine jewelry as well as fashion jewelry.

And though, while I write this, it’s ever-so-lightly flurrying in New York, we can collectively think of the touch of warmth and happy sunshine that spring always brings—and let’s not forget about the fashion! Perhaps your new coat purchase will be brought to life with a long, lean earring; your light and frothy dress with this season’s pearl necklace; your inevitable envy (or acquisition) of the Bottega Veneta Sardine bag fully realized with a pared-back stack of gold bangles. You get the idea.

The 36 Standout Beauty Looks From the London Fashion Week Runways

See the most memorable hair and makeup moments from the Fall 2023 shows.

London Fashion Week is often regarded as one of the more exciting weeks during fashion month because it’s a platform for emerging designers presenting fresh takes and creative ideas. This theme doesn’t end with the ready-to-wear on display; but rather, it’s further emphasized by the bold, inventive, whimsical beauty choices that typically accompany the runway looks.

Such was the case for the Fall 2023 shows, where a variety of avant-garde, eclectic and downright beautiful hair and makeup looks graced the runways.

The week started off with a bang as Simone Rocha presented models wearing a swoon-worthy look featuring with neatly tied ribbons placed delicately below models’ eyes to resemble crying (we’re calling them “bow tears”).

To follow, Emilia Wickstead brought back the strong Cara Delevingne-esque brow that reminded us all too well of 2016’s controversial commitment to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow. However, the other half of Wickstead’s models sported a bald or bleached brow — a theme that continued with other collections, such as Susan Fang and Feben.

When it came to hair, bangs were the go-to statement on the majority of runways this season. Many were wispy and gelled to the forehead, creating a wet-look effect that played well on the runways (but might not exactly be practical IRL). For Simone Rocha, many models donned straight hair and exceptionally curled, voluminous bangs to match. The most exciting looks on Rocha’s runway, however, were intricatell braided designs expertly laid upon models’ heads.

Below, take a look at the 36 best makeup and hair looks we spotted on the Fall 2023 London runways.
